John Rooney Jnr’s group workout classes will give you a serious workout that will not only make you fitter but will also shift any excess weight you may be carrying.
The class takes the best aspects of workouts used by some of the world's most finely conditioned athletes: boxers. It combines them into a program that is safe for the mainstream exercise devotee. With John’s boxing classes, you train like a boxer in everything but full contact sparring. (Although this can be arranged if additional training is taken up outside of the class).
John's boxing classes are challenging. They work most of the human body's physiological systems. The musculoskeletal system becomes stronger, the cardiorespiratory and vascular systems become more efficient and the central nervous system is trained to respond faster and more efficiently.
Intensity is the trademark of John’s boxing classes. They are more than 60% anaerobic, with many of the drills are made up of three minute rounds, with one minute recovery periods.
Strength gain is a natural product of a boxing workout. The class focus on improving speed, strength, explosiveness and lactate threshold management while simultaneously keeping body fat at minimal levels.
Cost: £10.00 per class
Mixed Group Class times:
Morning: Monday to Friday - 7.15am
Lunchtime: Monday to Saturday - 1.00pm
Evening: Monday & Wednesday 6.45pm & 7.45pm and Friday 6.30pm
